Organizational Structure
-
Authority is vested in a General Assembly of the
members, which meets at our biennial conferences, and a Council ,
which meets more often as needed.
-
An Executive Committee ,
consisting of the President, Vice-President, Secretary General, and
Treasurer, handles issues that arise between Council meetings.
-
The SISR President is elected
for a four-year term. Two years before this term expires, members elect a Vice-President, who will succeed the President. The Secretary General is also
elected for a four-year term, as is the Treasurer.
-
Council members are elected for
four-year terms from each of several countries or regions active in the ISSR. Elections are staggered in order to provide institutional
continuity.
The ISSR also sponsors a New
Researcher's Forum , for postgraduate students and recent PhDs
regardless of age. To join their mailing list, click
