• Since 1953, Social Compass: International Review of Sociology of Religion has provided a unique forum for all scholars concerned with the sociology of religion. The journal is interdisciplinary, publishing articles of interest to those working in sociology, anthropology, religious studies, and theology.

• Articles are in English or French. Abstracts are always published in both languages.

• Once a year, Social Compass contains an international bibliography listing relevant articles appearing in more than 130 sources in eight languages.

• Every year, one issue is devoted to papers delivered at the preceding biennial ISSR conference. Papers presented at the conference plenary sessions appear a year after the conference. Papers from other sessions at the ISSR conferences appear in the following year.
