|Physics107: Sound Physics|
We experience and enjoy acoustical phenomenon all the time; so whether you work with sound (as a student of music or communicative disorders), or you’re simply interested in how the physical world works, learning the mechanics of sound production, propagation, and perception should enhance your appreciation of the world as you hear it. I intend that, while focusing on a subject you enjoy, you’ll gain experience with scientific methods and you’ll develop a qualitative understanding of the physical principles underlying acoustics. This course quite naturally helps you achieve the MS1 and MS3 outcomes listed catalogue. Course work includes individual homework, exams, laboratory work, and a presentation teaching the physics of the acoustic subject of your choice.
