Is it the history of art, art in history, or art history? Does it matter how the words go? This course introduces you to several things, including some art and some history. More importantly, however, it introduces you to a variety of approaches for critically thinking and writing about visual culture. It is far from inclusive by any measure, but Introduction to Art History will give you the tools you need to see the world and its history in a different light.

Welcome to the webpages for Art History 100: Introduction to Art History. If this is your first visit, please read the explanatory notes, which can be accessed from the link at the left.
